Adventure Camp

Join us for Adventure Camps!

Campers explore the trails and wildlife throughout Toledo in a child led, discovery based experience. Building forts, climbing trees, making mud pies, running through the woods, and playing student led games are a few of our camper’s favorite activities!

FAQ about Adventure Camps:

Who: Adventure Camps are designed specifically for elementary aged children. Parent/Guardian volunteers are welcome, however, not required.

When: Camp is from 9 am – 1 pm  on most non-school days. Advanced registration is required. Extended care between the hours of 7:30 am & 5:30 pm is available upon request for an additional fee. Note: a minimum  number of students is required.

Where: We meet in the downstairs community event room of the Toledo Public Library. We take walking field trips throughout the town of Toledo. You will often find us exploring the forest or waterfront park.

Snacks: We provide a healthy morning snack such as fresh fruit, crackers, granola bars, and/or cheese. We do our best to accommodate special diets – please let us know how we can help meet your child’s needs.

Gear Required:  PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO CAMP IN ALL WEATHER PLAY CLOTHES! Wearing clothes that ‘cannot get dirty’ will inhibit your child’s interactions with materials. We plan to play outside everyday, therefore please dress your child for the weather and to get muddy. This includes coats, hats, boots, and mittens on chilly days. Dressing in layers so that your child can adjust to the fluctuating temperatures is highly recommended. Students should be dressed in sturdy, comfortable shoes that are easy for students to put on independently. Hiking shoes, rubber boots, and other sturdy shoes are preferable as the terrain we hike through is uneven and often wet from dew and rain. Please label all of your child’s personal items.

It is important that you bring the following gear everyday:

  •  Backpack
  •  Reusable water bottle
  •  Waterproof coat and pants
  • Extra set of clothes they can change into (secured in a labeled ziplock in backpack)
  •  A sack lunch (peanut free)

Cost: Camp Tuition is $35. A portion of each fully paid tuition goes towards the scholarship fund. We appreciate those families, who are able to help provide assistance to a friend in need. Extended care before and after camp care are additional cost.
